Level 1 is where you’ll develop a rock-solid foundation for your drumming that will prepare you for all the other levels in The Drumeo Method and set you up for success for the rest of your drumming journey. Level 2: Basic Theory & Ear Training
Theory and notation, rudiments, independence, new styles, and ear training! Level 2 is where you’ll start to develop skills in some core areas that you’ll continue to work on throughout the rest of the Drumeo Method. You’ll learn some basic rudiments which are considered the alphabet of drumming, you’ll learn how to read drum notation and understand basic theory, you’ll learn how to practice effectively, and you’ll even dive into drumming styles like rock, punk, and metal.

By learning the motions of drumming, you will become a more efficient drummer able to play faster, smoother, and for longer periods of time. This is no easy task, but the payoff is huge! Throughout the first seven levels, you learned a lot about what to play on the drums. In level 8, you’re going to focus on the how of drumming by exploring articulation and texture. Level 8 is also where you’ll learn how to play with brushes, explore styles from Cuba and Brazil like mozambique and samba, and learn to read and understand charts, lead sheets, and song forms used in jazz and Latin music. These are all essential skills, especially if you want to become a gigging drummer.

Level 10: Go Anywhere On The Drums
The final level of the Drumeo Method gives you a taste of what else is out there in the world of drumming. Like the title states, Level 10 prepares you to “go anywhere on the drums”.
